A couple of weeks ago, I asked my boys what they thought about having a quick mini-session on the bed and then having a pillow fight. Of course, they were thrilled because what little boy doesn’t love a good pillow fight? Especially when they get to get their Mama! I got everything ready and called them down for pictures and we had a really fun time. If you can’t tell, our baby adores his big brothers and the feeling is mutual. It’s a lot of fun to see them all interact together. I ended up liking the pictures so much that I created a storyboard and printed it off for our house and both sets of grandparents. A storyboard is always a great way to display your photos without having to buy a bunch of frames for them. If you are ever interested in a storyboard for your own portraits, I enjoy making them and would love to do that for you as well! One thing that I always stress to my clients is the importance of getting prints printed off through my professional lab instead of just purchasing a CD and printing your pictures off at stores like Costco, Target, WalMart, Walgreens, or Sam’s Club. Every time I see portraits printed off through those labs, I feel disappointed because they never are true to color or quality. It’s hard for me to explain just how bad they may end up looking, so I decided to do a print comparison to show the astonishing difference between the different prints. Cheap labs tend to really desaturate the colors and make them look dull and unimpressive. The Wal-Mart high quality print we purchased looked really yellow and even had lines in the photo! Costco prints looked extremely desaturated. Walgreens looked underexposed and green, and Targets print made the colors look messed up as well. It really showed me how great my professional lab is and how important it is to spend the extra money to get prints through them! Please keep in mind, these were scanned just using my home printer/scanner so the quality is hard to see and the photos don’t look near as sharp, but it’s very clear in person. What do you think?!
